Saint-Tropez is a costal town situated on the Riviera, in South-East of France. It has always been much apreciated by artists and was said to be highly prized by people of the "jet set" in the 1960's . Today the town still seduces by its beaches and the night life.
The cobblestone streets of La Ponche is a sign of its History as a fishing village, even if yachts now ought to outnumber the fishing boats in the Vieux Port.

Naval Group Saint-Tropez, located on the southern side of The Saint-Tropez Gulf, is the French site specialized - for over a century - in the study, conception, realization and maintenance of underwater weapons systems and represents in that respect a center of technological skills provided with technical means amongst the most performing in the industrial world.
Its quality as a lead contractor brings Naval Group to lead programs in an international cooperation particularly with Italy, Germany and Australia. The site of Saint-Tropez is one of the worldwide leaders in its area (lightweight torpedoes, high weight torpedoes, counter-measures systems) and realizes more than the half of its activity in export, with over a dozen of foreign navies as customers.

The activities on the site
Open to the industrial and international cooperation (for example: Thales Group in France, Atlas Elektronik in Germany, Finmeccanica in Italy, SME/SMI in Australia) the activity is based upon 5 main lines of products. The following items, as a non-exhaustive list of the activities of the site, represent the activities in conjunction with the “decision-making autonomy”.

The underwater drones : the D19 family
Based on the torpedo technology, the UWW Business Unit has developed a range of “slow” vehicles. These vehicles, which load capacity can be adapted to different missions, are based on a single modular design: the D19 vehicle, enjoying wide-ranging autonomy.

| Acoustic targets :
As part of their preparation for ASW, the Marine Corps customers need equipment for tactical training and formation of the operational staff on the use of the weapons. That’s the reason why Naval Group shall make available a training solution by way of a moving target version of the D19.

The light weight torpedo, MU 90
The MU 90 is the most performing light weight torpedo in the world. Deployable from any surface and aerial naval platform, it has been developed with the most advanced technologies so as to be able to counter any type of nuclear or conventional submarines.

The high weight torpedo F21.
The F21 torpedo is the only high weight torpedo development in the world. It presents much better characteristics than any other high weight torpedoes, currently in use. Its intelligence - coupled with dynamic performances and integrated tactic - makes this torpedo the first underwater armed drone, current and future.
